Automatic smart tagging

Automatic smart tagging is enabled by default for new captures and uses Mistral AI through OpenRouter’s dedicated Zero Data Retention route when configured. You can disable it in Settings → Notifications before capture. Only bounded item content is sent; enabling the feature later does not scan older items. Hosted OCR requires a separate explicit request. See the privacy notice and smart-tag guide for the data sent and retention boundaries.

Editing generated tags

Generated tags may be incomplete, irrelevant or inaccurate. Rail Cove adds successful tags automatically, and you can edit or remove them immediately. A failed request leaves the original item intact. Legacy stored suggestions remain unapplied unless you explicitly choose Tag again. The feature has per-account request limits and may be unavailable when its approved provider cannot serve a request. A provider ZDR requirement is not a promise that Rail Cove stores no data.
