Use versions and resolve save conflicts

Inspect saved revisions, restore an earlier board state as a new save, and protect a local draft when another save wins the race.

Follow the steps

Save a changed canvas. Successful content saves create a numbered board revision and preserve a version record.
Open the canvas toolbar and choose Version history to list saved versions with their revision and timestamp.
If the current editor is clean, choose Restore beside an earlier version. Rail Cove writes that content as a new current revision.
If a save reports a conflict, choose Download my draft, then Load latest version. Reapply the draft content deliberately and save again.

The content save includes the revision that was loaded. The server uses a conditional update and returns a conflict instead of overwriting a newer board.
Restoring a version keeps the history and increments the current revision. It does not erase the version you restored from.
The editor also keeps unsaved changes in local storage for the signed-in user and board when possible.

If Version history is empty, save the canvas once. The initial board may have only its creation state.
If Restore is disabled, save or download the current draft first, and confirm that your board role is not viewer.
If the same conflict repeats, refresh the latest board before making another batch of edits and avoid saving two stale tabs at once.
