Share a canvas deliberately
Invite a viewer or editor, create a read-only link, and review or revoke access from the canvas owner controls.
Follow the steps
Open the canvas and choose Share. Review the board before inviting someone because nearby source cards and comments provide context.
As the owner, enter an email and choose Can view and comment or Can edit, then send the invitation.
For link-only reading, choose Create new public link and copy the read-only URL. A public link can be opened by anyone who has it.
Use Disable public link or remove a member when access should end. Creating a new public link invalidates the previous public link.
What to know
- Boards begin private. Viewer access permits reading and commenting; editor access permits board content changes; owners manage membership and sharing.
- A shared-link board is sanitized and read-only. The link is separate from a signed-in member session.
- Direct membership and invite acceptance enforce account and email verification rules described by the API contract.
Troubleshooting
- If sharing controls are unavailable, confirm that you own the board. A viewer or editor cannot manage owner-only sharing settings.
- If an invitation cannot be accepted, sign in with the invited verified email and use the matching invite token before it expires.
- If an old public link stops working after a new one is created, use the newest URL or create another link intentionally.
