Comment on a shared canvas and handle live updates
Leave board-level comments, watch for collaborator save signals, and protect unsaved work when another revision arrives.
Follow the steps
Open a canvas and choose the comments button. Read the existing conversation or use Your comment to post a new board comment.
Use Delete comment on a comment you wrote, or as the board owner when moderation is needed.
Watch the canvas status for Connected or Live connection unavailable. A connected board receives persisted content-change signals.
When the board reports a newer remote revision, save or download your local draft first, then choose Load collaborator's changes.
What to know
- Comments are separate records attached to a board. The current panel provides a board-level body field with a 5,000-character maximum.
- Live signals report presence and a saved revision; they do not silently merge competing card changes.
- A viewer through a public link can read the sanitized board but does not receive the signed-in editor's live-save controls.
Troubleshooting
- If the live status is unavailable, continue working and save normally. Reconnect or refresh before expecting remote revision signals.
- If loading a collaborator's change is disabled, the editor has unsaved changes. Save or download the draft before loading the newer revision.
- If a comment cannot be deleted, confirm that you authored it or that you are the board owner.
